The Yemeni Islah Party condemned, in the strongest terms, the sinful assassination of the senior political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, former Palestinian Prime Minister and head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement.

In a statement on Wednesday, Al-Islah described the assassination as a heinous crime and a cowardly act condemned by all standards, diplomatic norms and international laws.

He considered the assassination a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law, which requires the international community, represented by the United Nations, to protect it.

The Islah Party stressed that the international community should punish the Israeli occupation for its repeated violations of all Palestinian land and people.

He called on the Palestinian Authority, the political components, and the resistance to unite and close ranks in the face of the Zionist death machine, which has broken on the rock of Palestinian steadfastness since the beginning of the resistance until today.

The Islah Party said in its statement: Despite the pain and wounds of the Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic worlds, this crime should be new fuel to fuel the resistance against the occupying entity, and to mobilize the nation’s resistance in supporting the Palestinian people to regain their rights and establish their looming state.

The Islah Party extended its sincere condolences to the relatives of the martyr Haniyeh, his family and lovers, and the leaders of the Palestinian resistance and the Arab and Islamic worlds, asking God to accept him among the martyrs and the righteous.

On Wednesday morning, Hamas and Iran announced the assassination of Haniyeh in an Israeli air strike that targeted his residence in Tehran, the day after his participation in the inauguration ceremony of new President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Haniyeh's assassination came at a time when the Israeli occupation, with American support, has been waging a war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, which has resulted in more than 130,000 dead and wounded Palestinians, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing.
