The United States of America condemned, on Monday, the brutal attack launched by the Houthi militia on a popular market west of Taiz Governorate, southwest of Yemen.
The US Embassy in Yemen said in a statement: "The United States condemns in the strongest terms the horrific attack carried out by the Houthis in the Maqbanah district of Taiz governorate, which targeted a popular market and resulted in the killing of six civilians and the wounding of eight others."
The statement added, "This brutal attack is yet another example of the Houthis' reckless disregard for human life," stressing that the United States stands with the Yemeni people in the face of these reckless and heinous acts.
He stressed that the United States remains committed to supporting the Yemeni people in their quest for a secure, peaceful, and prosperous future, and will continue to support the Yemeni people in their struggle for justice and human rights.
Yesterday, Sunday, the Houthi militia targeted a popular market adjacent to Umm Al-Qura School in the Al-Bumiyah area in the Maqbanah district, west of Taiz, with a drone, which led to the killing of 6 civilians and the injury of 8 others, some of whom are in critical condition.
