The Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the State of Qatar, Rajih Badi, stressed that the holy month of Ramadan holds a special place in the hearts of Yemenis, as it is a season of worship, mobilization of energies, and strengthening the spirit of social solidarity and compassion.

He explained in a special interview with the Qatari newspaper Al Raya that the Ramadan atmosphere in Yemen is characterized by high spirituality, as mosques are filled with worshipers, the sounds of Quran recitation spread from homes, and the streets are decorated with lanterns, while families gather around iftar tables in a scene of social cohesion.

Regarding the Ramadan atmosphere in the State of Qatar, His Excellency pointed out the strong adherence of Qataris to their Ramadan traditions and customs, such as exchanging visits between families and serving traditional Ramadan dishes, which add a touch of authenticity and social warmth.

He added that what distinguishes Qatari society during Ramadan is the spirit of social solidarity and generosity, as people compete to do good and contribute to collective Iftar tables.

His Excellency the Ambassador touched on the common customs between Yemen and Qatar during the holy month, such as group breakfast and exchanging visits that strengthen family and community ties.

He explained that Yemeni cuisine is full of many delicious dishes that decorate the Ramadan table, such as shafout, aseed, and harish, in addition to “bint al-sahn” and “fattah al-dukhan,” which are very popular in many Yemeni governorates.
