Fatima Babtain Medical Centers holds the fourth scientific medical meeting on the occasion of World Kidney Day 2025

As part of its activities for World Kidney Day 2025, which it launched early this year, Fatima Saleh Babtain Medical Centers for the care of kidney failure patients in Hadhramaut Valley held the fourth scientific medical meeting.
The meeting, which was launched on Thursday under official sponsorship and attendance, discussed kidney diseases and their relationship to other diseases, during 3 sessions, focusing on kidney diseases in cancer patients, lupus glomerulonephritis, urinary pericarditis, acute kidney failure due to sepsis in children, the role of interventional radiology in treating urinary tract obstruction, and early detection of harmful medications.
The meeting was attended by a group of doctors, consultants and specialists from Hadhramaut Valley and Coast, Yemeni Masters and Fellowship doctors from the Yemeni Council for Medical Specialties - Seiyun Branch, and a number of students from the College of Medicine at Seiyun University, who numbered 170 participants.
During the meeting, Dr. Riyadh Parker, Head of the Statistics and Information Department at the Centers, reviewed the statistics and their beneficiaries over 20 years.
Mr. Amer Al-Amri, Undersecretary of Hadhramaut Governorate for Valley and Desert Affairs, expressed his pride and appreciation for the effective partnership with civil society organizations, stressing the importance of organizing such scientific medical events to raise health awareness about kidney diseases, pointing out the importance of the scientific medical meeting to discuss diseases related to kidney failure and to come up with visions and recommendations that serve everyone.
In turn, Dr. Hani Al-Amoudi, Director of the Public Health and Population Office in Hadhramaut Valley, praised such scientific meetings that discuss specialized topics, stressing that the Health Office works according to a strategy for the prevention and treatment of kidney failure through awareness and definition of the causes of the disease and methods of prevention, as more than 13 targeted awareness campaigns have been implemented during the past period, providing quality service to patients, caring for them and paying attention to them, in addition to establishing a specialized diagnostic and treatment center to reduce the incidence of kidney failure.
In the outcomes of the meeting, the attendees stressed the need to provide an electron microscope to perform a kidney biopsy for early diagnosis of the disease, and to provide detection solutions for early diagnosis.
They also stressed the need to activate the urology department to reduce the spread of kidney failure and to expedite the completion of the kidney transplant center, while providing pre- and post-kidney transplant examinations and the necessary treatments.
The attendees urged spreading health awareness in health centers and reducing the misuse of incorrect treatments for kidney patients.
The meeting was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Qasim Buhaibeh, His Excellency the Minister of Public Health and Population, the leadership of the local authority, the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health and Population Office in Hadhramaut Valley, the contributing partner Al Nahdi Medical Group, and with funding from the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, and implemented by the Kalana Association and the field partner Silah Foundation for Development.
