Yemeni Media Conference under the slogan: "Media Freedoms and Digital Transformation" during the period from September 16 to 20, 2024
Under the slogan "Media Freedoms and Digital Transformation", the activities of the Third Yemeni Media Conference will start tomorrow, Monday, September 16, 2024, which is organized by the Media Freedoms Observatory of the Center for Economic Studies and Media virtually (via the Internet).
According to a statement issued by the Observatory this evening, this most prominent annual event in the Yemeni media arena is expected to witness the participation of more than 300 experts, journalists, academics and those interested in media affairs from inside and outside Yemen.
The statement added: The conference will last for five days, including in-person sessions and others online (via the ZOOM application), with the participation of more than 30 speakers in 13 diverse sessions. The conference includes more than 10 in-person sessions focusing on topics such as legal awareness and psychological support for media workers.
The statement indicated that the conference will address a number of issues related to enhancing freedom of the press and expression, and supporting digital transformation in the media. The conference sessions will also address vital topics such as the future of journalism in light of digital challenges, and the importance of specialized journalism in the fields of economics and scientific media.
In addition, the conference will discuss digital security and ways to protect journalists from cyber threats, the sustainability of podcasting as a media medium, and the role of the media in addressing environmental and climate issues. It will also discuss how to exploit artificial intelligence to enhance innovation and creativity in journalism.
The Media Freedom Observatory noted that the conference represents an opportunity to enhance freedom of opinion and expression in Yemen, and encourage innovation and the use of technology to build a better media future.
The Observatory called on all journalists and media workers to attend the conference and interact with its sessions by attending, participating and publishing on various news websites, platforms and social media.
