Barcelona top La Liga with hard-fought win over Rayo Vallecano

Barcelona topped the Spanish League after beating Rayo Vallecano 1-0 on Monday evening in the 24th round of the competition.
The home side opened the scoring in the 28th minute from a penalty kick scored by Robert Lewandowski.
With this result, Barcelona raised its score to 51 points at the top of the La Liga standings, outperforming Real Madrid in the number of goals, while Rayo Vallecano's score froze at 35 points in sixth place.
Barcelona has the advantage in the results of previous confrontations between the two teams with 29 wins compared to only 6 for Vallecano, while 10 matches ended in a draw.
