Ibb team wins the Loyalty to Marib Championship after defeating Hodeidah on penalties

Ibb team was crowned champion of the Loyalty to Marib Football Championship on Saturday evening, after its exciting victory over Al-Hodeidah team on penalties (5-4), in the final match that was held at Marib International Stadium, amidst a large audience presence.

The match witnessed strong competition between the two teams, as the regular time ended in a draw, so the two teams resorted to penalty kicks, which the Ibb team won in its favor, to be crowned with the cup amidst great public celebrations.

After the match, the coronation ceremony was held in the presence of the First Deputy Governor of Ma'rib, Sheikh Ali Al-Fatimi, and the Deputy Governor of Ibb, Fahd Mansour, in addition to a number of officials from the Youth and Sports Offices and leaders of the local authorities.

During the closing ceremony, Nasr Al-Ahmadi, Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, stressed that the tournament was not just a football competition, but rather embodied the spirit of solidarity and unity among the youth of the governorates, noting that these events reflect the energies and sporting talents of Yemeni youth.

Al-Ahmadi conveyed the greetings of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Al-Bakri, who praised the efforts made to make the tournament a success, stressing the ministry’s continued support for sports activities that contribute to developing the skills of youth and enhancing the presence of Yemeni sports.

For his part, the Deputy Governor of Ibb, Fahd Mansour, expressed his happiness with the crowning of the governorate’s team with the championship, considering that this achievement reflects the distinguished sporting talents that Ibb abounds with.

He praised the players' outstanding performance during the tournament, stressing that the local authority will continue to support sports activities and will work to provide the appropriate environment for developing young talents.

Mansour also revealed future plans and programs to enhance sports activities in the governorate, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, in a way that contributes to developing local sports and preparing a promising sports generation.
