In-form striker Ousmane Dembele scored twice after Vitinha had opened the scoring as Paris Saint-Germain beat Stade Brest 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 playoff on Tuesday.

In the second match between two French teams in the history of the Champions League, Saint-Germain imposed its dominance, although Brest also created a number of chances.

Saint-Germain opened the scoring after 21 minutes of the match, when Vitinha successfully converted a penalty kick, after a handball by Pierre-Lies-Melo.

Saint-Germain extended their lead with a second goal just before stoppage time in the first half, scored by Dembele who penetrated from the right side into the penalty area, then shot a low ball into the near corner of the net, making it the eighth consecutive match in which Paris Saint-Germain has scored.

In the 66th minute, Dembele added his second goal and the team's third, as he took advantage of a rebound inside the penalty area and shot it into the net of goalkeeper Marco Bizot.

Brest now face a difficult task in the second leg, scheduled for the Parc des Princes on February 19.
