About the resistance option, whose achievements we respect and whose consequences we escape

The resistance was and still is the sole guarantor of the cohesion of the national position, and the unity of the free and those opposed to mortgaging. It did not leave the field, nor did it leave the trenches empty of weapons and fighters. It is proceeding with certain determination and great strength, to expand the scope of the confrontation with the enemies lurking for the state, the republic, and national unity.
The bright models embodied by the resistance fighters in the city of Taiz in the spring of 2015, led by Sheikh Hamoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi, through sacrifices resembling a miracle, still reach their military goals, even though the city, its residents, and its defenders, who were literally unarmed, were surrounded by about (12) military brigades representing various types of weapons.
The miraculous heroic model was also embodied by the men of the Matarah in Marib, led by the heroic tribal sheikhs, and the Yemenis who rushed to support them; with a will that realized that Marib is the honorable refuge for the Yemenis, so everyone joined the army units and created the miracle of defending the precious part of the homeland that the coup plotters focused on and their comprehensive war on the homeland.
Almost everyone still retains the rare heroic image that the Marib landfills represented and the "first gift" of Sheikh Hamoud Al-Mikhlafi and his men, and everyone remembers with gratitude their heroic stance, without which cities of geographical, economic and human importance such as Marib and Taiz would not have remained in the possession of the legitimate authority. The sacrifices of the Marib and Taiz resistance were not appreciated by the allies, as the foreign media system deliberately pumped a torrent of lies and systematic allegations that sought to discredit the Taiz resistance and undermine its position in the conscience of the Yemenis, and impose the financial standard for its evaluation instead of the standard of sacrifice and redemption, the evidence of which is evident in the martyrs' cemeteries, which contain the remains of thousands of martyrs from leaders and resistance fighters.
The possibility of bravely siding with the resistance option among the political elite inside and outside the legitimate authority is diminishing day after day, while most of the legitimate leaders still have a hidden personal admiration for this option, which is indispensable for the survival of our state and its republic, and for defeating the coup plotters and ending their dangers and threats related to a package of malicious foreign conspiracies.
In late July 2023, Sheikh Hamoud al-Mikhlafi announced what could be considered the “second uprising,” as the popular resistance forces were reorganized into a higher council, called the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance. This announcement was not a move in a vacuum, but was based on a firm position and widespread support from the political elite, which, however, remained at the level of organizations and individuals, with its hands tied, trembling, and unable to show public support.
Today, as events in the region have dominated and Yemen, with its tragedies, disasters and the painful repercussions of the war that has never stopped, has been transformed into a mere footnote on the edges of the grinding regional crisis represented by the war on Palestine and Lebanon, we have the right to ask: If the option of resistance and comprehensive national military action is not the best option for us, then how can we confront the potential repercussions of this regional war on Yemen?
The importance of such a question comes from the danger that the military activity of the Houthi group in the Red Sea will turn into a main entrance to the political and military settlement in Yemen, the strategic results of which will go in favor of this group imposed on the Yemenis by a malicious international will that we do not really know whether it has changed in the opposite direction or not.
The sacrifice of blood, soul and money was and still is the best standard for evaluating manhood, heroism, sacrifice and sincere belonging to the homeland. It is impossible to outbid those stationed in the field, thanks to whom and their sacrifices the most dangerous plans that targeted the wide spectrum of resistance men in the National Army and the Popular Support (Popular Resistance) and their amazing and admirable unity throughout all these years of war have fallen.
External interveners showered money and weapons on armed political groups with selfish and regional authoritarian agendas to ensure their dominance on the ground, but that was not enough to bring them to the stage of full influence through this mechanism. Therefore, we saw that part of the regional war in which the most advanced weapons were used was deliberately and unfortunately allocated to creating, strengthening and empowering these groups on the ground, which paved the way for making dealing with them politically possible, especially after it became necessary to implement the scenario of absurd confrontations in strategic areas where the legitimate authority and its forces are concentrated, and the conditions are prepared to build launching pads for the war to restore the state, and the goal of these confrontations was to undermine the influence of legitimacy in favor of the armed functional political groups.
It is a great injustice to see what we see today of weakness, neglect, and violation of national sanctities, and the diminishing hopes of the possibility of restoring our national health, after these years of great sacrifices made by the most honorable and noble sons of our country, leaders, politicians, and field workers, with their lives, money, and moral standing, all of which were generously paid on the altar of loyalty to the state and the republic and against the sectarian threats represented by the Houthis and those who stand behind them at home and abroad.
We are adopting a completely reversed approach to dealing with the serious challenges facing our country, due to the clear disintegration of the structure of legitimate authority, after it was divided as easy spoils among the local agents of regional and external parties that influence Yemen’s present and future.
This reversed and disastrous approach is also attributed to the systematic targeting of the resistance option and preventing the people from waging their deserved military battle against their enemies, and to this abject inability of the political elite in power and outside it to devise a path that leads the people to regain their rights and restore their state, which is being violated by armed organizations with sectarian and regional agendas, which constitute a clear extension of influence and agendas that cross borders, in addition to what they are regurgitating of a past that our Yemeni people are supposed to have buried and with it buried the diseases that have weakened and exhausted their bodies.
In conclusion, I would like to remind everyone of a fact that should not be forgotten, which is that the legitimate authority no longer derives its legitimacy from its influence on the ground, but rather from regional and international commitment and the temporary and deceptive consensus that this authority could lose at any moment, either as a result of the disintegration of the international consensus or as a result of a resolution agreed upon in the Security Council, accompanied by threats to impose sanctions on potential rebels.
