180,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday evening, in preparation for the Night of Power, despite Israeli restrictions on Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) quoted the Islamic Endowments Department in occupied Jerusalem as saying that 180,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers on the 26th day of the holy month of Ramadan, in the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in preparation for the Night of Power.

On the night of Ramadan 27 last year, more than 200,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to estimates from the Islamic Endowments Department in occupied Jerusalem.

Palestinians continue their struggle to reach Al-Aqsa Mosque, defying the strict Israeli occupation restrictions that hinder their access to the mosque. Israeli occupation forces are deployed throughout the alleys of Jerusalem's Old City, obstructing residents' access to the mosque.

For the second year in a row, the Israeli occupation announced new conditions and restrictions on entry into Jerusalem and prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque for West Bank residents.

The conditions include that the applicant be at least 55 years old for men and 50 years old for women, and that they must have obtained a special card called a magnetic card in advance. They must then apply for a permit through a smartphone application called the "Coordinator" application, which is administered by one of the Israeli army's departments.

In addition to the Israeli occupation's strict measures to prevent worshippers from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque, settlers regularly storm its courtyards under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, performing provocative tours and Talmudic rituals within its premises.
