PetroMasila Company announces the successful operation of the heavy fuel oil refining unit "mazut"

PetroMasila Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (PetroMasila) announced today, Sunday, the successful initial operation of the heavy fuel oil (mazut) refining unit and the production of experimental quantities with high specifications.

The CEO of PetroMasila Company, Mohammed bin Sumait, explained in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that this achievement is part of the company’s plans for diversification and development after the cessation of oil exports and the attack on the export buoy more than two years ago (by the Houthi militias).

He pointed out that this experimental quantity will be donated to power generation stations in Hadhramaut Governorate under the direct supervision and responsibility of the local authority.

He pointed out that there are very complex engineering and construction works underway on the site for more than a year, and these complex tasks were carried out inside the Central Processing Facility ( CPF ) in Sector 14 with an operational system that remained fully operational.

He praised the capabilities of PetroMasila's engineers and technicians in reaching creative and innovative solutions to overcome the difficulties that prevented this achievement.

Bin Sumait pointed out that this project will provide the government with a lot of hard currency and will help the governorate generate electricity and will be another source for PetroMasila and its employees during this difficult period.
