The UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, said that Israel wants to deport Palestinians, describing its crimes as extremely serious, coinciding with the escalation of the Israeli military operation in the northern occupied West Bank.

Albanese confirmed - in an interview with Al Jazeera - that Israel is emptying the Jenin camp in the northern West Bank of its residents, and stressed the need not to differentiate between the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Israel launched a large-scale aggression on Jenin on the third day of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, after an Israeli genocide that lasted for more than 15 months, and called its operation there "Iron Wall."

Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Rab said that the Israeli army is copying the image of blowing up residential blocks from the Gaza Strip to the Jenin camp in the northern West Bank, noting that the explosions that took place in the camp yesterday, Sunday, are the first in more than two decades.

According to Abu al-Rab, Israel is working to destroy the camp and turn it into an uninhabitable place by blowing up residential blocks and destroying the infrastructure.

In turn, sources told Al Jazeera that the occupation forces blew up an entire residential block in Jenin camp yesterday, Sunday, while the Israeli army announced that it had blown up 20 buildings in the Al-Damj neighborhood in the camp, announcing that it would expand the scope of its operations there to include 5 new villages.

The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories expressed her great concern about what is happening in the West Bank, expressing her conviction that Israel is attacking Palestinians regardless of their location, dealing with them in a colonialist manner, and trying to seize their land.

Late last month, Albanese warned in a post on the X platform that Israel's genocide of Palestinians would not be limited to Gaza and would spread to the occupied West Bank.

In her interview with Al Jazeera, Albanese described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a war criminal wanted by international justice, stressing that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians.

On November 21, 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former defense minister, Yoav Galant, on charges of “committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.”

However, the UN rapporteur expressed her shock at the lack of Arab countries' intervention in the Palestinian issue, but she praised Libya's role in this regard.

Last July, the International Court of Justice called on Israel to put an end to the occupation of the Palestinian territories occupied after 1967, calling for an end to any measures that cause demographic or geographical change, stressing that the recognized Palestinian people have the right to self-determination.
