He believed that "what matters to Hamas is preventing the enemy from defeating it and causing it to lose land, and more importantly, staying alive, and this means victory from its point of view, and this has been the case since 2006, after it came to power after winning the elections."

He continued: "Hamas believes that the final battle against Israel is a new phase in the long religious war, and it expressed this point clearly in Article Seven of its charter, when it confirmed that it is one of the jihad units in the face of the Zionist invasion, and this means that the war against the Jews requires patience and sacrifice."

He stated that "Hamas is convinced that Tel Aviv's readiness for a ceasefire expresses its weakness and is a clear indicator of its defeat," noting that the movement is still adhering to its principles and has succeeded in achieving its goals of liberating prisoners from Israeli prisons, in addition to stopping normalization, establishing a Palestinian state, and returning the Palestinian cause to the global agenda.

Right-wing writer Sara Haetzni Cohen claimed that “what is most important to Hamas is the withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza, which required it to fight harder, occupy the north of the Strip, and not bring aid to the Palestinians, which confirms that the ceasefire agreement is bad, and the prices that Tel Aviv is being asked to pay for it are difficult, and its consequences are dangerous, and therefore I believe that it should not have been accepted, despite my awareness of the arguments for and against it, but the Israeli public will continue to look with tearful eyes at the coffins of the dead kidnapped instead of the living ones who have returned.”
