The Sudanese army announced on Sunday the recapture of the city of Hasahisa, the second largest city in Al-Jazeera State in central Sudan, in addition to the towns of Rafaa, Tamboul, and Al-Hilaliya, while reports confirmed the recapture of the town of Al-Kamlin, the last line of defense south of the capital, Khartoum.

Army spokesman Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah said on his official Facebook page that his forces had "completely cleansed the city of Hasahisa of the enemy." Pro-army platforms also reported that the army had retaken the town of Al-Kamlin, which is about 130 kilometers from the Al-Awliya Reservoir Bridge, the main exit for the Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum.

The same platforms added that army forces are heading towards Khartoum from the south. Brigadier General Abdullah had announced, late Saturday evening, that his forces had retaken towns in eastern Al-Jazeera State, after launching a cleansing campaign in the area.

With the recovery of the cities of Hasahisa and Al-Kamlin, the army has completed its control over the land route linking Khartoum and the city of Wad Madani, the capital of Al-Jazeera State, which passes west of the Blue Nile River.

By retaking the towns of Rafaa, Hilaliya, and Tamboul, he has also regained control of the road linking Wad Madani and Khartoum, on the eastern side of the river.

Earlier today, the Coordination of the Resistance Committees of Karari in Sudan announced today (Sunday) that the "Sudan Shield" forces, allied with the army, entered Khartoum State, after taking control of eastern Al-Jazeera State, which is now completely under the control of the army.

In addition, Al Jazeera reported from local sources that clashes broke out this morning in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, between the Sudanese army and the joint force of armed struggle movements on the one hand, and the Rapid Support Forces on the other.

The clashes were concentrated in the southern and southwestern axes of the city, where the sounds of artillery shelling were heard in the center of El Fasher.

The Joint Force of Armed Struggle Movements said in a military statement that the Rapid Support Forces escalated their attack on El Fasher just one day after the UN Security Council resolution calling on them to stop the attack and lift the siege on the city.

According to the statement, the Rapid Support Forces launched an attack on the city at dawn today from three axes: the south, the southwest and the southeast, targeting residential areas and camps for displaced persons. However, the joint force, in cooperation with the Sudanese Armed Forces and other forces, repelled the attack and inflicted heavy losses on the attackers.

The statement indicated that the Rapid Support Forces attempted to carry out a penetration operation from the southwestern axis, but failed, and the attacking force was completely eliminated.

According to the initial toll, more than 140 Rapid Support Forces personnel were killed, 43 military vehicles were destroyed and 12 others were seized in good condition.

The statement added that the attack included fighters on foot, others using donkeys and horses, while some of them showed signs of being under the influence of drugs, which raised questions about the extent of the decline in military supplies to the Rapid Support Forces.

The statement concluded by congratulating the Sudanese people on what it described as "great victories," stressing that their forces will continue fighting until all of Sudan is liberated from the Rapid Support Forces.
