The Central Bank discusses with the Korean Ambassador enhancing economic support and financial reform programs

Today, the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed Ghaleb, discussed with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Yemen, Bong Kae Doo, Deputy Ambassador Jin Joo Kim, and the Representative of the Korea Export-Import Bank to Saudi Arabia and Yemen, Chun Ki-hoon, the latest economic developments in Yemen and ways to benefit from Korean support.

During the meeting, the governor reviewed the major economic challenges facing the country as a result of the Houthi militias targeting oil facilities and halting its exports, in addition to other practices that negatively affected the lives of citizens in various regions.

According to Saba News Agency, the governor expressed his appreciation for the support provided by sisterly and friendly countries to mitigate this damage, hoping that this support would continue and increase in all areas, including technical support and capacity building.

The Governor also spoke about the reform program implemented by the Central Bank with the support of our brothers, friendly countries and international organizations, which aims to restore economic balance, achieve stability, and develop the functions of the Central Bank to keep pace with economic developments and existing challenges.

For his part, the Korean Ambassador praised the measures taken by the Central Bank to stabilize the banking sector, and commended the government's efforts to improve the economic situation in Yemen.

He reiterated his country's full support for the Republic of Yemen in various fields, and support for the peace process led by the United Nations, in addition to strengthening international efforts to achieve stability in Yemen.
