Al-Eryani stressed that continuing to allow the Houthis to use these platforms enhances their ability to spread their extremist ideas, recruit fighters, and carry out their terrorist operations, stressing that the international community bears the responsibility of confronting these media threats and working to stop the exploitation of these platforms for terrorist purposes.

Al-Eryani stressed that the United States and the international community are required to hold this terrorist group accountable for its record of crimes and violations, and not to give it any political or legal cover, or a tool that would enable it to continue its terrorism against the Yemenis, and threaten regional and international security and peace.

Minister Al-Eryani appreciated the continuous efforts made by the US Special Envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, over the past years to achieve peace in Yemen, and his deep understanding of the background of the Yemeni crisis and the nature and dangers of the Houthi militia, describing him as a prominent figure in the efforts to establish peace.

For his part, Lenderking agreed on the need to ban the broadcast of Houthi media, which is used for recruitment, spreading their ideology, mobilizing their forces, and collecting donations.

King explained that designating the Houthis as a terrorist organization will help in this as companies begin to take steps to reduce the risks, noting that implementing the terrorist organization designation includes criminal provisions for supporting the Houthis, and violators will be subject to criminal prosecution.
