A citizen was killed and his father was injured by gunmen in one of the towns of Ibb Governorate, central Yemen, which is under the control of the Houthi militia and is witnessing widespread security chaos.

Local sources said that late yesterday evening, gunmen attacked the home of citizen Abdullah Qaid Al-Jamal at the Habish junction, administratively affiliated with the Al-Makhader Directorate, north of Ibb.

The sources added that the gunmen opened fire on the citizen (Al-Jammal) and his father, which resulted in the immediate death of the son, while the father sustained serious injuries and was transferred to the hospital.

The sources indicated that the gunmen are believed to be from the "Al-Marghmi" family in Al-Qafr District, suggesting that the incident is likely related to a previous case of revenge with the victims who come from the same district.

Ibb Governorate is witnessing a frightening increase in murders and local conflicts, exacerbated by the rampant security chaos, the absence of the role of the judiciary, and the militia’s fueling of these conflicts.
