The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcast a recording today, Saturday, of an Israeli prisoner who holds American citizenship, in which he spoke about his suffering and the conditions of his detention, and addressed a message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President-elect Donald Trump.
Prisoner Idan Alexander said that he has been held by Hamas for more than 420 days, and addressed Netanyahu: "I heard you speaking to the people of Israel on the news, and I felt very frustrated. I heard that you will give 5 million to whoever returns us alive, but what about your protection of us as citizens and soldiers? You neglected us."
He pointed out that he lives in constant fear, saying: "Our guards told us about the new instructions in case the army forces reach us. We die a thousand times every day and no one feels for us."
He added, addressing the people of Israel: “Do not neglect us, we want to return home with a clear mind. Fear and isolation are killing us, and please, go out to demonstrate every day and pressure the government. It is time to end this nightmare.”
Message to Trump
He also addressed a message to US President-elect Trump, saying: “I am an American-Israeli citizen held captive in Gaza. I have always believed in the power of the United States, and I implore you to use your influence in every way to negotiate for our freedom. Every day we spend here feels like an eternity, and the pain grows by the day.”
Alexander criticized the policies of the previous US administration, saying: “Don’t make the mistake that Joe Biden made.. The weapons he sent are killing us now, and the illegal blockade is killing us,” adding: “I don’t want to end up dead like my American compatriot Hirsch.”

He concluded the recording with an emotional message to his family, saying: "Mom, Dad, Micah, Joy, Grandpa, Grandma, every day that passes the pain inside me grows. I miss you so much and pray every day to see you soon. Stay strong, time is running out, but this nightmare will end one day." .
The recording showed the prisoner in a difficult psychological state, as he cried bitterly while talking about the fear and pressures he was experiencing, renewing his call to find a solution to end this suffering.
In the first week of September, Al-Qassam had broadcast audio recordings of 6 Israeli prisoners whose bodies the occupation army had announced had been recovered at the beginning of the same month inside a tunnel in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, including Hirsch Goldberg, who held American citizenship.
All the recordings held the Israeli government, led by Netanyahu, and the security and military services responsible for what happened on October 7, 2023, and called on all prisoners to expedite the conclusion of an exchange deal and continue the popular demonstrations demanding their return alive.
