The joint forces (Public Security - Shabwa Defense) in Shabwa Governorate (southeast Yemen) continued to detain an investor in its prisons for about a week without knowing the reasons.

A local source said that the joint forces arrested the investor, Walid Mohammed Hassan Al-Noud, and took him to one of its prisons on November 20, without knowing the reasons for his arrest.

The investor's family informed the head of the Shabwa Appeal Prosecution, Judge Saleh Ahmed Al-Madhaji, that the aforementioned was imprisoned without knowing the reasons, and asked him to direct the referral of the investor to the Public Prosecution if there was a case against him.

In turn, Judge Al-Madhaji directed the commander of the joint forces to review the file of the aforementioned person, and if he committed a criminal act, he would be referred to the Public Prosecution with the priorities and released if there was no charge against him.

The local source explained that the joint forces refused to release him, citing the reason for his arrest as being that it came under the directives of Governor Awad bin Al-Wazir, and a notification from the Public Prosecution to detain him.

The source explained that the family had referred the Public Prosecution today, Wednesday, to the allegations of the report of the investor’s detention, but it denied this and confirmed that the Public Prosecution’s directives were clear.

It is noteworthy that the investor, Walid Al-Noud, hails from Ibb Governorate, and came to Shabwa to invest in real estate by building and selling villas, but he was imprisoned without knowing the reasons.
