King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center announced on Saturday the signing of a joint cooperation agreement with a civil society organization to establish a residential complex for internally displaced persons with its service facilities in Midi District, Hajjah Governorate, northwest of Yemen.

The Saudi Center said that the agreement, signed by the Assistant Supervisor General of the Center for Operations and Programs, Eng. Ahmed Al-Baiz, is valued at 3 million and 813 thousand US dollars, and will benefit 4,094 individuals.

He explained that the agreement aims to provide 232 economic housing units for the displaced in the northwestern regions of Midi Directorate, where each housing unit contains two rooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and an open courtyard.

A secondary school will also be built to meet the educational needs of the children of the complex’s residents and the host community, as well as a mosque and a children’s playground, according to the center.

The Red Sea coastal city of Midi hosts thousands of displaced families who live in dilapidated huts and tents under harsh environmental and economic conditions after the terrorist Houthi militias displaced them from their homes in the governorates of Hajjah and Hodeidah.
