The Masam Project for Mine Clearance in Yemen announced on Sunday the removal of 552 Houthi mines and munitions in several Yemeni governorates over the past week.
The project said in a statement from its media office that its reserve and emergency teams continued their operations while many of the MASAM project teams were on annual leave during the month of Ramadan.
He added that Project 552 teams removed deadly mines during the period from March 15 to 21, including 35 anti-tank mines, 513 unexploded ordnance, and four explosive devices.
He added that field teams disinfected an area of 4,750 square meters during the same period.
The statement indicated that since the project began operations in mid-June 2018, it has identified and destroyed 485,501 mines, munitions, and explosive devices in liberated areas of Yemen.
