A poet was killed by his son following a family dispute in Shabwa Governorate (southeast Yemen).
Local sources said that poet Mohammed Ahmed Mansour Ahkami Al-Dayani Al-Awlaqi was killed on Tuesday by his cousin in the As-Sa'id district of Shabwa governorate following an urgent family dispute.
The victim was a poet, a graduate of the Faculty of Arts, and a participant in the "Shabwa Poet" program.
Shabwa governorate is witnessing a frightening increase in domestic violence and blood feuds, amidst the security chaos plaguing the governorate, which is under the control of forces loyal to the Southern Transitional Council.
