On Thursday, the Houthi militia kidnapped a media activist in the capital, Sanaa, which is under its control, and took her to an unknown location.
Media sources reported that the Houthi militia kidnapped activist Sahar Abdul-Ilah Al-Khawlani from her home in the capital, Sana'a, and took her to an unknown location.
According to the sources, the militia kidnapped activist Sahar Al-Khawlani, after she attacked the militia during the past weeks on social media platforms.
The Houthi militia has escalated its kidnapping campaigns against male and female activists in Sana'a and a number of governorates under its control, coinciding with the anniversary of September 26, and the increasing state of popular resentment against the militia.
On Wednesday, the Association of Mothers of Abductees said that it had documented 833 cases of kidnapping and arbitrary detention in Yemen during the year 2023, most of which were committed by the terrorist Houthi militia.
In its eighth annual human rights report, entitled “Mothers at the Gates of Justice 5,” the association monitored cases of violations against abductees in 14 Yemeni governorates during the year 2023.
The organization said that it documented (833) cases of arrest and kidnapping of civilians, including (754) civilians who were kidnapped by the Houthi group in (Sana’a, Taiz, Hodeidah, Dhamar, Ibb, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, and Sa’dah), among whom were (308) people who were kidnapped in 18 mass kidnapping campaigns.
