Sana'a: Yemen Youth Net

Dr. Ali Al-Hawari, a professor of political science at Sana’a University, revealed on Wednesday that the Scientific Council of the Department of Political Science at the College of Commerce and Economics did not discuss or approve the discussion of the thesis of Mahdi Al-Mashat, head of the Political Council of the terrorist Houthi militia.
Al-Hawari said - in a post on his Facebook page - that "the two members of the discussion committee from the department, Dr. Ashwaq Ghlais and Dr. Hani Maghlis, are required to show the legal directives that allowed them to discuss a master's thesis in the presidential palace."
Dr. Al-Hawri, a professor of political thought at the university, added, wondering, “Did they receive a directive from the university presidency, for example, to have it in the Republican Palace? Was the issue presented to the department council, the college council, and the graduate studies council, and did these councils agree to this place for the discussion?”
He stressed that the University’s Department of Political Science did not discuss the topic, and it is the first concerned with it, as the discussant is a student in the Department of Politics, and his supervisor and the head of the discussion committee are members of the department!
Al-Hawari warned of the seriousness of what happened and that it threatens Sana'a University and its status, saying, "Is there a university in the world that would accept that the discussion be held in the Republican Palace? Certainly not...and there will never be!"
He pointed out that the security conditions completely prevent the discussion committee members from moving to the Republican Palace, and that if necessary, it could be in another research center, provided that the scientific councils approve it, and in the case of Al-Mashat, the Political Science Department Council, after the university issues a regulatory regulation that regulates such cases, if any.
Al-Hawari stressed that holding the discussion in the Republican Palace specifically is a grave mistake in my opinion. It sends a message that this academic institution (Sana’a University) is subject to the student being discussed, not that the student being discussed is subject to the academic institution, its laws and rules.
Al-Hawari concluded his post by saying that what happened was a grave mistake and remaining silent about it is even more grave, although it does not prevent “the rulers from the right to learn,” but rather to preserve what remains of the university’s scientific reputation, status, and respect.
Yesterday, Tuesday, the Houthi media and the usurped state institutions in Sana'a published pictures claiming that Mahdi Al-Mashat discussed his master's thesis in the Department of Political Science at Sana'a University under the supervision of two of its teachers, in the Republican Palace in Sana'a, and it sparked widespread mockery on social media.
Over the past years, the terrorist Houthi militia has granted its members and leaders certificates from Sana'a University and other universities under its control, most of which were postgraduate certificates in the past period.
