The Security Belt Forces of the Southern Transitional Council announced, on Saturday, that they had seized a number of explosive devices and explosive belts ready for use in Lahj Governorate, southern Yemen.
The Security Belt Media Center quoted an operational source as saying that the Security Belt forces were able to seize explosive devices and belts that were hidden in a house located in the Al-Rajaa area in the Tur Al-Baha Directorate.
According to the center, the seized items included 5 ready-made explosive devices, a rectangular device, a locally-made hand grenade, an explosive belt, in addition to several explosive devices made of C4 and bearing detonators, in addition to a plastic bag containing explosive materials.
The center explained that the operation was carried out based on a report stating that there were explosives hidden in the house, noting that after verifying the report, the forces moved in coordination with a specialized technical team to the site.
The Security Belt Forces confirmed that the security checkpoint succeeded in arresting the main suspect (S.A.A.M.), who confessed to hiding the explosive materials in the home of one of his relatives.
According to the center's statement, the seized items were transferred to the relevant authorities, while the accused is subject to the necessary legal procedures to follow up the investigations.
