Document to suspend the work of the Journalists Syndicate in Aden
Today, Thursday, the legitimate government, through the Social Affairs Office in Aden, directed the suspension of the work of the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate, on the pretext of not responding to the request to move its headquarters to the temporary capital, Aden.
This came in a memorandum sent by the Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Aden to the Journalists Syndicate, a copy of which was obtained by "Yemeni Youth Net".
According to the circular, the Social Affairs Office in Aden addressed the union stating that “the union federations that are not authorized by the ministry, which have not corrected their legal status since Aden became the capital of the country, and have not responded to calls to move their main headquarters, have been suspended.”
According to the document, "these unions did not adhere to holding the electoral cycle in accordance with the provisions of the law and under the supervision of the ministry and its offices in the governorates, and they are carrying out their activities in the liberated governorates illegally." In reference to the union that it has not held elections since Aden was declared the temporary capital.
The circular stipulated the suspension of any activities of the Journalists Syndicate in Aden until its legal status is arranged.
This comes in light of the control of the forces of the Transitional Council, supported by the UAE, by seizing the headquarters of the Syndicate in Aden, looting it and changing its name to the Syndicate of Southern Journalists, amid the government’s inability to protect the headquarters of the Syndicate in Aden.
