International Ministerial Meeting to Support Yemen with the Attendance of 35 Countries in New York
Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak said, "There is a clear message confirming the international community's conviction of the necessity of supporting the Yemeni government to achieve peace and stability in the region." This came after the international ministerial meeting to support Yemen.
On Monday, an international ministerial meeting was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, attended by 35 countries, to mobilize support for the government’s plan for economic recovery in Yemen. The meeting pledged - in a joint statement - “to provide political, financial and technical support to achieve the government’s vision and priorities.”
Ben Mubarak explained - on the X platform - "We presented our vision and strategy to achieve political, economic and security stability, while affirming our commitment to implementing an institutional reform program that ensures transparency and combating corruption."
Pledge to support Yemen
The international meeting discussed the priorities for the period 2025-2026, chaired by the Yemeni government and the United Kingdom, and pledged to cooperate with the Yemeni government and provide political, financial and technical support to achieve the government’s vision and priorities to improve the living conditions of all Yemenis.
They said in a joint statement that “Yemen’s stability and regional security, including maritime security, can only be achieved through a stable, effective government that is accountable to the people of Yemen, and they acknowledged the significant economic, humanitarian and security challenges.”
The statement commended "the remarkable progress made by the government in re-establishing government institutions in Aden, and welcomed the government's continued commitment to restoring national stability, and its vision and priorities in implementing economic, financial and institutional reforms, including combating corruption."
