Four soldiers from the Southern Transitional Council forces were injured on Thursday in an attack launched by Al-Qaeda militants in Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen.
The Second Support and Reinforcement Brigade of the Transitional Forces said in a statement that Al-Qaeda elements targeted the positions of the brigade's first battalion in Wadi Omran, northwest of Mudiyah District.
He added that while the forces were confronting the attack, four soldiers from the Second Brigade were slightly injured, noting that they were transferred to receive treatment.
Last Saturday, the Second Support and Reinforcement Brigade announced that one of its soldiers was injured when its forces confronted an attack launched by armed elements affiliated with Al-Qaeda late Friday on one of its positions in Wadi Omran, northeast of Mudiyah District.
The rugged, mountainous Wadi Omran in Mudiyah District, Abyan Governorate, is the main stronghold of Al-Qaeda members in Yemen, where the STC forces are constantly being attacked.
Since the end of 2022, the forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council have been launching a military operation against Al-Qaeda elements in Abyan Governorate under the name "Arrows of the East", with the aim of "uprooting and pursuing elements of terrorist organizations."
