Al-Zubaidi meets with the Turkish ambassador to Yemen
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, discussed today, Wednesday, with the Turkish Ambassador to Yemen, Mustafa Bolat, the possible mechanisms for launching a Turkish shipping line to and from Aden International Airport.
The meeting discussed developments related to the political and humanitarian situation in Yemen, in light of the continued Houthi escalation in international shipping lanes in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab and the Gulf of Aden, and the resulting serious humanitarian repercussions.
The two sides reviewed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, and discussed issues of common interest, including increasing the humanitarian support provided by Turkey to Yemen, and benefiting from Turkish expertise in rehabilitating the infrastructure.
Leadership Council member Al-Zubaidi praised the role played by Turkey in supporting humanitarian efforts in Yemen, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in a way that contributes to establishing security and stability and improving the living conditions of citizens.
For his part, the Turkish ambassador stressed his country's keenness to strengthen relations with Yemen and its support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in their efforts to end the crisis and achieve peace and development.
The Turkish ambassador expressed his country's readiness to enhance bilateral partnership to serve the interests of both countries.
