The Specialized Criminal Court of First Instance in Hadhramaut Governorate, eastern Yemen, issued sentences ranging from death to three years in prison for five people accused of working for the Houthis.
This came in the public session, yesterday, Wednesday, headed by the President of the Court, Judge Fahd Muhammad Al-Yazidi, and in the presence of the member of the Public Prosecution, Judge Sabry Abdul-Khair Al-Awini, and the Secretary, Majid Al-Alwani, in the serious criminal case No. (29) of the year 1446 AH, according to the Public Prosecution’s media.
The verdict ordered the execution of the accused (A. H. A. Q.) who had fled from justice, and the sentencing of four other accused to three years in prison after they were convicted of participating in an armed gang affiliated with the Houthis, spying for and seeking help from a foreign country, in addition to the charge of smuggling fertilizers to the group for the purpose of using them in the manufacture of explosives and explosive devices.
The ruling also stipulated that the four convicts sentenced to prison (M, H, S, Sh) and (L, M, M, M) and (A, H, S, Sh) and (H, M, Z, Sh) be banned from practicing the profession of trading for a period of three years, starting after the expiration of their sentence.
