Israeli media reported that more than 20 raids targeted the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and Hodeidah in a major attack against Houthi targets carried out in coordination between Israel and the international coalition.
Channel 14 Israel said that 3 waves of strikes took place at close times, in different areas, and on multiple targets, including underground sites, among them warehouses for ballistic missiles and drones.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that reports from Yemen indicate an Israeli attack on Hodeidah, Ras Issa Port, and the Sana'a area.
The British maritime security agency AMBERY suggested that the targets of the air strikes were oil storage facilities around the Ras Isa port docks.
The Israeli Army Radio reported that 20 fighter jets participated in the attack and dropped 50 bombs, confirming that the fighters carried out a refueling operation in the air.
The Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV channel said 13 airstrikes targeted the Haiz central power station in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.
The channel reported in its news, "Three citizens were injured, including a worker at the Haiz Central Power Station in Sanhan District, and a number of homes were damaged as a result of the aggression's bombing of the power station."
It also reported that air strikes targeted Ras Issa and six other strikes targeted the main port of Hodeidah, while Harf Sufyan district in Amran governorate was also subjected to air strikes.
An Israeli military statement confirmed the bombing of the targets, saying that the Haziz power station was a "central energy source for the terrorist Houthi regime in its military activities," adding that the targets bombed were examples of "Houthi exploitation of civilian infrastructure."
Tactical coordination
Netanyahu threatens the Houthis to pay a heavy price
For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened the Houthis that they would pay and continue to pay "a heavy price for their aggression" against Israel.
Netanyahu said: "Today we attacked terrorist targets of the Houthi terrorist regime on the West Coast and deep inside Yemen. The Houthis are an arm of Iran and serve the terrorist goals of the Iranian axis in the Middle East."
"They pose a danger to Israel and the entire region, including harming global freedom of navigation. I repeat and say: We will not tolerate any harm to our citizens and our state. We will act firmly and forcefully against any entity that threatens the State of Israel - wherever and whenever it is required," he added.
Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, for his part, followed the attacks in Yemen from the air force command room, accompanied by the air force commander Tomer Bar and other commanders. He said in a statement issued by his office: “The IDF’s attack in Yemen is a clear and strong message to the Houthi leader, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, and the leaders of the terrorist organization in Yemen: ‘There will be no immunity for anyone.’”
He added: "We will pursue you, hunt you down and destroy the terror infrastructure you have created. Israel's long arm will reach you everywhere. Thousands of Houthis who are now participating in a hate march against Israel have heard up close the power of the air force's planes."
He continued: "The port of Hodeidah is paralyzed and the port of Ras Issa is burning, and the message is clear: whoever attacks Israel will suffer double damage."
