IOM: 1,345 African migrants arrived in Yemen last July

A UN report revealed, on Thursday, that 1,345 African migrants arrived in Yemen last July.

The International Organization for Migration said in its monthly report that its tracking matrix recorded the entry of 1,345 migrants into Yemen last July, a decrease of 26% compared to the previous month (1,820).

She explained that all arrivals were from Somalia and entered the country via the coast of Shabwa. Most of the migrants were men, at 52%, followed by children, at 26%, while women represented 22%.

According to UN statistics, the total number of African migrants to Yemen during the first seven months of this year rose to 11,740 migrants.
