Security and economic conditions force 34 Yemeni families to flee during the past week

Security concerns and economic conditions caused by the Houthi war in the country forced 34 Yemeni families to flee during the past week.

The International Organization for Migration said in its weekly report issued yesterday, Sunday, that its displacement tracking matrix monitored the displacement of 34 Yemeni families, representing (204 individuals), during the period from January 26 to February 1.

She explained that the majority of displacement cases originated from Hodeidah, Taiz, Hajjah and Ibb and settled in Marib (16 families), Hodeidah (9 families) and Taiz (9 families).

The organization stated that concerns related to safety and security as a result of the conflict were the main reason behind 20 families leaving their areas of origin, at a rate of 59%, while economic reasons related to the conflict forced 14 families to flee, at a rate of 41% of the total displacement cases.

The organization indicated that the total number of displaced families from January 1 to February 1, 2025 amounted to 183 families (1,098 individuals).
