Yemen and Qatar discuss enhancing cooperation and supporting development.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaye'e Al-Zindani discussed today with Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development Fahad Al-Sulaiti ways to enhance cooperation between Yemen and the Fund to support development projects in coordination with government agencies.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed mechanisms to support sustainable development in Yemen and the Fund's areas of intervention, which include food security, healthcare, water, livelihoods, and women's empowerment. They also discussed the Fund's plans to enhance the resilience of local communities in the face of humanitarian and economic challenges.

Minister Al-Zindani stressed the importance of continued joint coordination to identify priorities and address urgent needs, praising the vital role played by the Qatar Development Fund in financing and implementing vital projects that contribute to improving basic services and enhancing economic stability.

The meeting also discussed mechanisms for implementing a number of projects funded by the Fund, most notably the maintenance and re-operation of the Aden power plant, support for Khalifa Hospital in the city of Turbah in Taiz Governorate, and other projects aimed at improving infrastructure and basic services in various governorates.

For his part, the Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development expressed the Fund's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Yemeni government and supporting economic recovery programs. He emphasized the Fund's continued support for development and relief projects that meet the needs of the Yemeni people and alleviate their humanitarian suffering.
