Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the security of maritime navigation lines depends on supporting the capabilities of the armed forces to extend their control over the entire national territory.
This came during his meeting in the interim capital, Aden, with the Head of the European Union Mission to Yemen, Gabriele Monura, the French Ambassador, Catherine Camon, the German Ambassador, Hubert Jager, the Dutch Ambassador, Jean Sibben, the Romanian Ambassador, George Mayor, and the Greek Ambassador, Alex Plus, according to the Yemeni News Agency, Saba.
The meeting discussed the overall situation on the battlefronts, the continued smuggling of weapons to the terrorist Houthi militia, its targeting of international shipping lines in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, and the impact of this on the peace process in Yemen.
The Minister of Defense reiterated that the security of maritime navigation lines depends on supporting the capabilities of the armed forces to extend their control over the entire national territory and end the Houthi threats lurking in freedom of navigation, noting that it is the closest way to restoring stability to Yemen and the region.
Al-Daari said that there are intensive efforts being made by the Supreme Military Security Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense to unify all military formations under one command, noting that the Joint Operations Authority is making great efforts to coordinate, cooperate and unify efforts between all military formations.
The Minister of Defense pointed out that international agreements and pressures have hindered the legitimate forces from completing the restoration of state institutions, stressing that the Houthis are concerned about peace, and war is the main factor for their survival in light of the widespread popular discontent and unrest in the areas under their control.
