Today, Monday, Sheikh Hamoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi Foundation delivered five buses to the Al-Amal Association and School for the Rehabilitation of the Mentally Disabled, under the auspices of the Humanitarian Department of the Supreme Council for Popular Resistance.
During the handover, the First Deputy Governor of Taiz, Dr. Abdul-Qawi Al-Mikhlafi, praised the humanitarian projects of Sheikh Hamoud Al-Mikhlafi Foundation, which address the needs of the poorest groups and segments of society and alleviate their suffering.
He explained that these buses will improve transportation conditions for disabled students, facilitate their access to school, the continuity of the educational process, and their opportunity to obtain a good education and safe transportation to their homes. Perhaps paying attention to these groups will enable them to develop their social and communication skills to interact effectively with their peers, teachers, and family members.
For his part, the Director of the Education Office in the province, Abdul-Wasea Shaddad, pointed out that the transportation of mentally disabled children and students poses a great difficulty in continuing their education, and therefore providing buses will encourage them to move safely from home to school and vice versa, stressing that these groups are deserving and this project is an important humanitarian gesture to serve and educate the disabled.
In turn, the Director of the Association and School for the Disabled, Ibtisam Abdul-Wasie, expressed her happiness at providing the school, which contains (200) mentally disabled male and female students, with a school and reducing the cost of their transportation between home and school.
She pointed out that the association was paying 2 million riyals per month in transportation fees for school students, which caused great difficulty for parents and the school and was a permanent obstacle for students to complete their education, expressing the Sheikh Hamoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi Foundation, which has become a pioneer in humanitarian work and sustainable development projects.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Abdul Rahman Hassan, confirmed that the Foundation is keen on alleviating human suffering and the bus distribution project addresses the needs of mentally disabled students due to the great suffering in this area, which forces students to leave education as a result of the difficulty of commuting to school.
He pointed out that the Al-Mikhlafi Foundation is keen to meet the needs of these vulnerable groups, in addition to the humanitarian and development projects it implements in various fields to alleviate human suffering and overcome the effects of the war and the Houthi siege on Taiz.
