Arsenal thrashed PSV Eindhoven 7-0, while a draw prevailed in the match between Borussia Dortmund and Lille on Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16.

English club Arsenal achieved a resounding victory over its host, Dutch club PSV Eindhoven (7-1).

The goals for the Gunners were scored by Dutchman Jurrien Timber (18), Ethan Nwaneri (21), Spaniard Mikel Merino (31), Norwegian Martin Odegaard (47 and 73), Belgian Leandro Trossard (48), and Italian Riccardo Calafiore (85).

In contrast, Noah Lang scored the only goal for the home team (43 from a penalty kick).

With this big result, Arsenal has put one foot in the quarter-finals of the most prestigious European cup. The second leg will be held on March 12 at the Emirates Stadium.

Borussia Dortmund draw with Lille
