Real Madrid beats its neighbor Atletico and gains the lead on its home field

Defending champions Real Madrid took the lead by beating their neighbours and guests Atletico Madrid 2-1 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday evening.
For Real Madrid, Brazilian Rodrygo scored 4, Moroccan Brahim Diaz scored 55, while Atletico Madrid's only goal was scored by Argentine striker Julian Alvarez 32.
The second leg is scheduled to be held at the Civitas Metropolitano Stadium on March 12, to decide who will qualify for the next round.

In another match, Aston Villa of England succeeded in returning from the home of its competitor, Club Brugge of Belgium, with an excellent result, winning 3-1.
Aston Villa's first goal was scored by Jamaican Leon Bailey 2, but Club Brugge's Maxime De Kuyper equalised in the 11th minute.
Shortly before the end, Club Brugge player Brandon Michel put the ball into his own goal by mistake, scoring the opening goal for the English guest in the 82nd minute.
Then the Spaniard Asensio added the third for Aston Villa from a penalty kick in the 88th minute. The second leg will be held next Wednesday at Aston Villa Stadium.
