Spanish Cup: Atletico Madrid return with an exciting draw from Barcelona's land

Atletico Madrid returned with a thrilling 4-4 draw away from home in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final.

Atletico took an early lead with two clean goals through Argentine striker Julian Alvarez 1, and Frenchman Antoine Griezmann 2.

But Barcelona responded strongly in the first half, turning their deficit into a 3-2 lead through Pedri 19, Pau Coparsi 21, and Inigo Martinez 41.

In the second, the substitute Polish striker Robert Lewandowski succeeded in scoring the fourth goal 74.

At a time when Barca fans thought the match was within reach, Marcos Llorente revived his team and hopes strongly by scoring the third goal for the visiting team, making the score 4-3.

Shortly before the end, Norwegian Alexander Sorloth scored the equaliser 90+3, so that Argentine coach Diego Simeone's team returned with a good result from its competitor's land.

The return match will be on March 16.

In the other semi-final, Real Sociedad will host its rival Real Madrid today, Wednesday.
