Arsenal started the new year in style as they recovered from an early goal to win 3-1 at Brentford and move into second place in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Bryan Mbemo gave the home side the lead in the 13th minute with Brentford's first attempt, but Gabriel Jesus continued his recent fine form by heading home an equaliser just before the break.
Arsenal started the second half strongly, with Mikel Merino scoring the opening goal in the 50th minute, before Gabriel Martinelli scored the third goal three minutes later, as Mikel Arteta's team tightened their grip on the match.
