Liverpool crush West Ham 5-0

Liverpool continued their brilliant run this season and ended 2024 in the best possible way after beating host West Ham United 5-0 on Sunday in the 19th round of the English Premier League.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 30th minute, and Cody Gakpo added the second goal in the 40th minute, taking advantage of a wonderful decisive pass from the Reds' star and current season's top scorer, Mohamed Salah. Four minutes later, specifically in the 44th minute, Mohamed Salah returned and scored the third goal for Liverpool, ending the first half with the visitors leading by three goals to none.

In the 54th minute, the Reds' right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, managed to score the fourth goal, taking advantage of a decisive pass from the Dutchman, Ryan Gravenberch.

In the 84th minute, Salah returned and passed a wonderful through ball to Diogo Jota, who put it in the net, announcing the fifth goal for the guests.

Liverpool moved completely away from the top after raising its score to 45 points, 8 points ahead of its closest competitor, Nottingham Forest.

For his part, West Ham's balance froze at 23 points.
