Yemeni-Emirati artist, Balqis Ahmed Fathi, congratulated the national team that defeated its Bahraini counterpart yesterday, Saturday, in the Gulf Cup Championship held in the State of Kuwait, Gulf 26.
She said in a video recording, "The Yemeni national team excelled today despite the weak capabilities, the lack of camps, and all the circumstances. However, we are very proud of you. You achieved a well-deserved victory."

The Yemeni team achieved its first victory in the tournament after 36 matches, as it had never achieved any victory in any match in the tournament since joining it.
The Yemeni national team ended its journey in the Gulf Cup with an exciting victory over the Bahraini national team, with a score of 2-1, today, Saturday, at the conclusion of the group stage.
The Bahraini team had secured qualification to the semi-finals, before today's match, by topping Group Two with 6 points.
The Yemeni national team collected the first 3 points in its balance, to come at the bottom of the standings, on goal difference from Iraq, the third-place team, which bid farewell to the tournament after losing 1-3 to Saudi Arabia, the runner-up (6 points).
