The Sudanese army said it had tightened the noose on the Rapid Support Forces in the center of the capital, Khartoum, in order to control key facilities there, including the presidential palace and other sovereign government facilities, and the city’s largest commercial markets, amid reports that the Rapid Support Forces had committed a massacre near the city of Al-Qatana, north of the White Nile State.

On the Khartoum Bahri axis, the army officially announced that it had completed its control over the Kafouri neighborhood, one of the main strongholds of the Rapid Support Forces in the capital.

At the same time, battles are taking place in the northern axis of White Nile State, where the Rapid Support Forces launched attacks that resulted in the killing of dozens of people and the injury of hundreds in towns near the city of Al-Qatana, north of the state.

Sudanese Minister of Information Khaled Al-Aiser described the targeting of civilians in the White Nile villages as a systematic practice of violence against unarmed civilians.

He said in a post on his account on the XN platform, "The latest manifestations of the systematic practice of violence against unarmed civilians were represented in targeting residents in the villages of White Nile State."

He added, "Expressions of disapproval are no longer enough to awaken the human conscience towards these crimes committed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia groups (...) which require it to be classified as a terrorist organization."

Army spokesman Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah also said that the army had taken control of the city of Rahad, in North Kordofan.

Targeting civilians

For its part, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Rapid Support Militia committed a massacre in the villages of the city of Al-Qatana, in the White Nile State, which left 433 people dead.
