Safer Exploration and Production Company in Marib announced today, Tuesday, the launch of the submersible pump project ( ESP ) in the Unity 2 well, with a production capacity estimated at about 800 barrels per day of crude oil.
The company's CEO, Engineer Salem Kaiti, said that this project represents the first phase of developing a number of dead wells due to low pressures and returning them to the production line, which will lead to improving oil production in Sector 18, according to the Yemeni News Agency "Saba".
He pointed out that the project comes within the company's vision with direct follow-up from the leadership of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals and the interest and support of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to advance the oil sector.
It is noteworthy that the process of exporting crude oil in Yemen has been suspended since November 2022, due to the targeting of export facilities and ports by the Houthi militia in the governorates of Hadhramaut and Shabwa.
