On Friday, Yemeni Minister of Transport Dr. Abdul Salam Hamid called on all traders, importers, commercial companies and shipping lines to operate trips to the port of Aden and the liberated ports, due to their technical capabilities, capacity and provision of good navigation services.
Hamid confirmed, in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the ministry will provide all facilities and overcome the difficulties they face, considering that the recent developments and events that targeted the ports of Hodeidah and the difficulties and threats facing the shipping lines and import companies constitute a critical and difficult situation for the movement of commercial activity and navigation in the ports of Hodeidah.
The Minister of Transport also announced the readiness of the liberated ports to receive all shipping lines and import companies and secure commercial and relief supply chains to all areas under the control of the Houthi militias with ease and safety.
He explained that the conflict in the Red Sea, which was sparked by the terrorist Houthi militias by targeting international shipping lines in service of Iran's goals, had a significant impact on the navigational movement of ships in international maritime passages and lines.
He pointed out its disastrous repercussions on the country, which led to a doubling of the insurance rate and shipping fees, and this was reflected in the prices of goods and services, which in turn affected the people’s standard of living.
The Minister of Transport called on the international community to stop the Houthis’ extortion of traders and importers through the ports of Aden and the liberated areas through border points to force traders to pay customs and taxes at a rate of one hundred percent, and to work to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people who are suffering from the tragedies of poverty and hunger due to the arrogance and haughtiness of the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.
