The hours of power outages have increased again in the interim capital, Aden (southern Yemen), as the raw fuel in the president’s station is about to run out, and there are no government indications of a solution to the problem.

Local residents said that the hours of power outages in the city have increased significantly over the past hours, while the Electricity Corporation has scheduled the service for 10 hours of power outage and two hours of power on.

The residents added that the only station currently operating is the President's "Petro Masila" station, with a large shortage, in addition to solar energy in the morning, while the public stations with diesel and mazut are still out of service.

For its part, informed sources said that a new electricity crisis is looming on the horizon as the president’s station is close to running out of fuel, while there are no indications of upcoming supplies or any official procedures to purchase or provide additional fuel.

On Monday, the service was completely cut off from the city for the first time in the winter due to the fuel shortage, before gradually returning late that night after an emergency shipment was provided, amidst appeals to solve the problem that burdens citizens and increases their suffering.

The Electricity Corporation in Aden repeatedly complains about the depletion of fuel and the interruption of service to the city, in light of the government’s inability to find permanent solutions to the problem that worries the people of the capital and neighboring governorates.
