A leader in the Transitional Forces escapes a prisoner accused of premeditated murder from Lahj Correctional Facility

A leader in the Security Belt Forces affiliated with the Transitional Council smuggled a prisoner accused of premeditated murder from the Central Correctional Facility in Lahj Governorate.

According to a complaint filed by the director of the Central Correctional Facility in Lahj, Abdul Salam Al-Junaidi, to the head of the Appeal Prosecution Office in the governorate, Salah Al-Wajeeh, commander of the Al-Husseini checkpoint in the Tuban district, smuggled prisoner Ali Omar Muhammad Ahmad from inside the central prison in the Sabr area.

The complaint stated that the dignitary arrived at the prison building with his companions in an armored vehicle, and asked the soldiers present in the administration to take out the prisoner accused of premeditated murder, under the pretext of speaking with him.

The complaint added that Al-Wajih claimed to the soldiers that he had previously coordinated with the prison director, and by virtue of his position as one of the leaders of the Security Belt in the area, the soldiers responded to his request and took the prisoner out to the administration gate, where Al-Wajih was standing next to his car.

The complaint indicated that moments later, one of the prison soldiers fell and broke his foot, which distracted the attention of the rest of the soldiers, so the notable took advantage of the opportunity and took the prisoner with him in his car and fled.

The director of the correctional facility confirmed that he had tried by all friendly means to convince the dignitary to return the prisoner to the correctional facility, but his attempts had failed.
