On Thursday evening, a number of southern governorates witnessed angry protests, street closures, and burning of damaged car tires, in denunciation of the deterioration of services and the collapse of the process, in light of the complete absence of the role of the government and the Presidential Council to carry out any treatments.

Local sources told Yemen Youth Net that citizens closed main streets in Mansoura and Khormaksar districts for the second day in a row, and set car tires on fire, which disrupted traffic, in protest against the continued power outage.

In a related context, protesting citizens set fire to car tires on the Sabr road in the Tuban district, north of Lahj governorate, in protest against the deterioration of living conditions and the collapse of the currency, according to local sources.

In Al-Dhale', local sources said that citizens set fire to the main public street in the city of Al-Dhale', the center of the governorate, in protest against the deterioration of electricity and water services and the unprecedented decline in exchange rates.

This comes amid power outages in the southern governorates, deteriorating living conditions, and a continued collapse of the currency in areas controlled by the recognized government, in contrast to the government’s inability to carry out treatments.

This evening, Thursday, the Saudi riyal exceeded the 600 barrier for one riyal against the Yemeni riyal in the selling price, and 595 for buying, while the dollar reached 2270 for buying, and 2306 for selling.
