The terrorist Houthi militia forced the sheikhs and dignitaries of the Al Masoud tribe in Al Qurishiyah District, Al Bayda Governorate (central Yemen) to attend sectarian courses in Sana'a, while continuing its military campaign in the region.
Local sources said that the Houthi militia forced a number of sheikhs and dignitaries of the Al Masoud tribe to attend sectarian courses organized by the militia, after threatening to punish them if they refused.
The sources explained that this happened at a time when the militia continues to besiege the Hanakat Al Masoud areas, restrict citizens' movements, and launch house raids from time to time.
The sources indicated that the militia is still detaining dozens of the region's sons in its prisons in the governorate and Sana'a, whom it had kidnapped in the middle of this month, in a military campaign that is still ongoing.
On January 12, the militia was able to storm the village of Hanaka Al Masoud in Al Quraishiyya, after an unjust siege that lasted for weeks and systematic bombing and targeting of citizens’ homes, in which the Iranian-backed group used drones and heavy weapons, and subsequently committed revenge crimes against the residents.
According to human rights reports, the Houthi campaign in its first days led to the killing of at least 7 civilians, the injury of 18 others, including women and children, the kidnapping of at least 400 civilians, including children and elderly people, the bombing and burning of 21 homes, and the partial damage of a number of others.
