Taiz: A human rights center documents 179 Houthi violations against individuals and property last year.

A human rights report documented 179 violations committed by the terrorist Houthi militia against individuals and property in Taiz Governorate (southwest Yemen) during the past year 2024 AD.

This came in the Human Rights Information and Training Center's ( HRITC ) annual report entitled "Taiz... Siege in the Shadow of Forgetfulness."

The report stated that the Houthi militia committed 179 of the 233 violations witnessed in Taiz Governorate last year, including killing, wounding, kidnapping, and attacks on property.

The report explained that the Houthi militia was responsible for the deaths of 34 civilians and the injury of 63 others, through crimes of shelling, killing, sniper fire, and mines, most notably the horrific massacre it committed on December 1, when it targeted a popular market in the village of Al-Bumiyah in the Maqbanah district using a drone, resulting in the deaths of six civilians and the injury of eight others.

Regarding violations of property, the report revealed that the Houthi militia committed 72 violations against private property, most notably the destruction of 41 homes and 29 vehicles.

The report indicated that the remaining violations were distributed among other parties, with 24 violations committed by armed individuals outside the state framework, 15 violations attributed to government forces, 9 violations to the US-UK coalition, and 6 violations to unknown armed individuals.
